MIDLAND DOBERMANN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2009
                                 DOGS  -  15TH NOVEMBER 2009

My thanks to the Midland Dobermann Club for the very warm welcome and such generous hospitality.  Also, a big thank you goes to my two very efficient Stewards - Marion and Pete. I was very impressed with the venue and really enjoyed my day.

I found many of the puppies in the early classes to be far too tall and hope this is not a growing trend within our Breed.  Also, few dogs had the correct muscle tone, and not too many had tight feet – some feet were splayed. However, the temperaments were excellent.

CLASS 1 – MINOR PUPPY 10 (2)
  1. SUPETA’S AL PACINO AT FORESTIVORYS  A lovely 7 month old puppy that caught my attention as he entered the ring. Standard size, lovely bone, good reach of neck, deep chest and topline. He behaved perfectly and well deserved to be awarded Best Puppy in Show.  Very definitely one to watch for the future.
  1.  COCKNEYOKA JOSEY WHALES Another promising young puppy very similar in outline and confirmation to class winner, but not quite the depth of chest and bone of 1. Movement needs practice and also too much bait was being demanded.
  1. SWNYDWR WHISTLE BLOWER
CLASS 2 - PUPPY 3 - 1 withdrawn
  1. ZENITH THUNDERBOLT  A tall but balanced eleven month old puppy. Correct head planes, good forechest and depth, well formed rear angulation.
  2. OUROUSE BOOTLEGGER  A standard size dog, Lovely tight feet, but generally needs to muscle up, very soft.
CLASS 3 - JUNIOR 2 - 1 withdrawn
  1. TUWOS HALESTROM AT SHOWADOWS Upstanding dark brown dog, correct head planes although ears quite large, good forechest, spring of rib and depth of brisket, strong topline into tailset, and correct rear angulation and hocks.
CLASS 4 - YEARLING 12
  1. JOJAVIK MAFIOSO JW Again he attracted my attention on entering the ring and I wasn’t disappointed on closer inspection. A super young standard dog, balanced front and rear, good head with correct planes and almond shape eye. Good reach of neck, well developed forechest, good topline, rear angulation and strong hocks. He well deserved to win this class and was a contender for the RCC, but lost out to his Sire on maturity. I am confident he has a great future.
  2. LIEBWACHE MADHATTER A Brown dog taller than winner and not the depth of chest, but many of the attributes of class winner apply.
  3. AMAZON EL CID WITH KELJAYGO
CLASS 5 - NOVICE 2
  1. KRIEGER RINGMASTEROnly 8 months old – was very unsettled and so went unplaced in Minor Puppy, but came into this class and showed very well. Balanced standard size, with more muscle than many of the older dogs. Good head planes and dark almond shape eye, tight feet, good topline with plenty of rear angulation good bone and feet.
2 TAGO MAKAHU MAJOR Taller brown dog than class winner. Immature only 8 months old, but nice head, good depth of muzzle and reach of neck, good rear angulation, but the class winner was in a much harder condition and showed better.
CLASS 6 - UNDERGRADUATE 0
CLASS 7 - GRADUATE 4
  1. DOBERLANE IRISH CREAM Strong standard size bl&rust dog, excellent bone & good head planes, correct scissor bite and almond shaped eye. Good depth of muzzle, long reaches of neck flowing into strong topline.
2.JAKARTA’S JABBERWOCKY
Again similar attributes to class winner, but I preferred the forechest and overall balance of winner.
CLASS 8 - POST GRADUATE 7 (2)
  1. NEARCTIC JACK SPICER Upstanding bl&rust dog, wedge shape head, strong under jaw, dark almond shaped eyes. Good reach of neck, excellent depth of forechest, level topline and turn of stifle, nearly lost place due to being unsettled.
  1. DAVWAY SPECTACULARVery close, could have changed places with winner on another day – a balanced dog, but I preferred the bone of class winner.
CLASS 9 - LIMIT 24 (5)
  1. ARITAUR WARLORD AT TRONHEIM JW A lovely eye catching dark brown dog – good profile, balanced front and rear. Good head planes, correct scissor bite, good depth of forechest and reach of neck.  Topline held firm moved with drive. Well shaped rear angulation and parallel hocks. Another one to watch for the future - was a strong contender for the RCC, but was unlucky to be competing against my 2nd in Open on the day.
  1. AMAZON EL TORRO JW Again these two could easily change places on another day - very similar type to winner, but I preferred the front assembly of class winner.
  1. KRIEGER MAJOR DUOMO AT HEATHWAEN JW
CLASS 10 - OPEN 11 (1)
  1. CH.AMAZON TALK OF THE DEVIL JW An eye catching upstanding brown dog who again caught my eye as he entered the ring and fully lived up to my expectations. Excellently handled, a lovely balanced outline, plenty of bone, good head and expression. Correct shoulder angulation and depth. Good topline with strong rear angulation, parallel hocks and tight feet. I was pleased to award him the CC and with the agreement of my Co-Judge see him go on to Best in Show.
  1. CH & LUX CH. SUPETA’S OZZY OSBOURNE Many of the qualities and attributes of my class winner apply to this dog and I am sure they change places regularly. I was delighted to learn he is the Sire   of so many quality progeny, which can only be good for the future of the breed. Good head and reach of neck, well placed shoulders and strong topline, and rear angulation. However, I preferred the bone on my CC winner, but was delighted to be able to award the RCC to such a quality dog.
3.  CH CHANCEPIXIES NIMROD
CLASS 11 - VETERAN 4 (1)
It was a pleasure to see all three veterans in such good condition which made this class harder to judge.
  1. FURSTKLARS EVOLUTION A very young looking 81/2 year old – still retains a good shape in profile, good head, plenty of depth of muzzle and good depth of brisket.
  1. MARCAVIE THE GAMBLER JW ShCM Still full of life and enjoying he Show ring – very similar in type to winner, but unfortunately was constantly demanding bait, which unsettled him.
  1. CH AMAZON UNDER FIRE AT LIASON
