MIDLAND DOBERMANN CLUB OPEN SHOW
Limited Obedience
Sunday 11th June 2006

JUDGE: Anne Taylor-Wilde STEWARD: Pam Fagg

My thanks to the Midland Dobermann Club for the invitation to judge the Obedience at this well run show. Thanks to Pam for her excellent stewarding as usual, not a paw wrong all day! Anyone who has stewarded for several classes at a limited obedience show will appreciate what a difficult job it can be, but Pam put everyone at ease and helped the day go really smoothly.
Due to a change in the criteria for eligibility this year there was a reduced entry. I believe things will be back to normal next time therefore giving more people the chance to enter.

RESULTS

Class: Special Pre Pre-Beginners Entries: 4 (3 Ran)

1st No.29
Ms C Furniss OTTIA BONZA’S BABE AT SHEADYLEADY (B)
Shea - Lagged and worked a little wide today but she tried hard and won the class. Well done.

2nd No.10 Mrs K Brannan REMESCA OLIVER TWIST (D)
Ozzie - Slow and crooked sits the main problem, but his heelwork was good when he was on the move, he also tried hard.

3rd No.37 Mrs D Bonser-Hadfield OTTIA WISHING ON A STAR (B)
Boo - Mainly wide and lagging this young handler worked hard with the dog and I think maybe nerves got the better of her too.

Class: Special Pre-Beginners Entries: 4 (4 Ran)

1st No.24
Mr & Mrs J Fletcher SUPETA’S THAT’S ENUF (D)
Fritz - Wide turns the problem today. I have seen this dog work before and can see improvement, keep at it. Congratulations.

2nd No.29 Ms C Furniss OTTIA BONZA’S BABE AT SHEADYLEADY (B)
Shea - Lagged all the way round on Heel Free, however it was a very hot day. They both still worked hard to gain this place; a failure in the sit stay was costly.

3rd No.10 Mrs K Brannan REMESCA OLIVER TWIST (D)
Ozzie - Left turns a problem in this round, he tried hard in this round too. A failure in the sit stay was costly for him also.

Class: Special Beginners Entries: 6 (6 Ran)

1st No.23
Mr A A & Mrs K Evans BASHFUL DANCER (B)
Tia - She did very well on the retrieve & recall, turns appeared to be her main problem today, a little work in that direction and she would hold her own at open shows. Very well done.

2nd No.24 Mr & Mrs Fletcher SUPETS’S THAT’S ENOUGH (D)
Fritz - Stopping to check out the spectators (human) cost Fritz the higher place in this class. Work on keeping his attention and like the 1st placed dog, I am sure he would hold his own at an open show.

3rd No.10 Mrs K Brannan REMESCA OLIVER TWIST (D)
Ozzie - Turns again the problem, and then he failed his sit stay, which put him down to this place. I think he was perhaps flagging in the heat too.

Class: Special Novice Entries: 4 (2 Ran)

1st No.51
Mr P & Mrs A McGee KITADO AMBER KNIGHT (D)
Alfie - Wides in Heel free the main problem, sort this out and I am sure he will be a good contender at open shows. Congratulations.

2nd No.18 Mr M A & Mrs C J Cunnerley EVANNAS SAMBUCUE (B)
Rosie - Stays her downfall today. Get them sorted and she also should go far.

Class: Special A Entries: 3 (1 Ran)

1st No.15
Mr L Champion REMESCA REACH FOR THE SKY (D)
Arnie - Another dog that I have seen before. What an improvement! He went down on his sit stay and played about a little with retrieve and scent articles, however I was really pleased with his performance today. Keep it up, well done.

Thanks to you all for your entries and for taking my decisions so well I enjoyed my day and hope that you did too. I hope to meet you all again some time; I also hope that you will keep the flag flying for your lovely breed in the obedience world.
