Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) Screening 2024

The Midland Dobermann Club are offering Echo-cardiograph scanning and Holter Monitoring to be carried out by Sarah Smith MA VetMB,DVC, MRCVS RCVS, Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology or Ruth Willis BVM&S DVC FRCVS RCVS, Recognised Specialist in Cardiology

Client/owner explanation.

The Midland Dobermann Club will subsidise the cost to Members of the Club of over 1 (one) year. It is hoped to encourage all breeding stock to be tested in the months prior to mating.

The screening will include full Doppler Echocardiograph (heart scan) or 24 hour Holter Monitoring (ambulatory ECG)

All Dobermanns must be identified by microchip or tattoo no.

All Dobermanns must be 2yrs-10 yrs of age. Kennel Club registration papers must be presented at the time of appointment.

Owners are to be fully paid up members of The Midland Dobermann Club of over 1 (one) year. Owners of under 1 (one) year will pay the full discounted price.

Individual appointments are to be made privately. There must be 18 months between appointments with the same dog. Owners will be requested to sign a declaration agreeing to all data collected in the investigation of their dogs being made available for future research programmes approved by the MDC.

Dogs are limited to 2 per household/same address. Clinics will be held until the end of 2024 details will be reviewed every six months at Sarah Smith Cardiology, Ivy Court, Willington Road, Etwall, Derbyshire. DE56 6JG

Member of the Club over 1(one) year. Charge, £217.00 for the Echocardiograph scan payable at the time of appointment.

Member of under 1 (one) year charge £305.00 for the Echocardiograph Scan payable at the time of appointment.

Members can book both tests but will have to pay for the full amount of Holter Monitor, offered at a vastly reduced rate of £262.50
